The Raiders go for 3rd place against Notre Dame - Green Pond!

This has to be one of the toughest AA brackets in the history of this tournament. It is considered by many to be a much stronger tournament than the AAA counterpart this year with 6 or 7 teams that could be in the top ten in the large school division.
AA Brackets - Updated 2/109/24 7:30am
The match numbers are in parenthesis. E.g. Our first match is match number (8). The numbers in green to the right of each school is the state ranking as of last week before the district tournaments.
If you wonder why Reynolds faces off with FCA in the first round two years in a row, the PIAA adjusts the brackets every two years. Traditionally Districts 1 and 12 did not field competitive teams so the winner of their preliminary math was paired against another district champ in the initial round. It just happened that last year, Faith Christian's super junior high team reach varisty level when it was District 10's turn to be in that bracket.

Reynolds at the State Duals
As any Raider fan knows, Reynolds has had lots and lots of success at the team duals championships. The tournament started in 1999. Until 2005, only the district champions qualified for the state tournament. Since our first trip there in 2001, we have won 8 State Titles, four Second Places and three Third place finishes. They have qualified to compete in 22 of the 26 tournaments and three of those four missed years are when we finished 2nd in districts when only champs qualified.

Reynolds Roster
One of my favorite observations is watching our wrestlers' records grow in the win column after the holidays. It is quite a misdirection of talent during early January when many of our boys have losing records while competing with and beating others that have great individual recocrds

Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders Review
NDGP is another quality team with a recent history of success at the state level. Their lineup is pretty solid throughout with superstar Ayden Smith in the light weights and a very good core of grapplers from 160 and higher. The rest of the light and middle weights are relatively vulnerable and where the Raiders must dent the Crusader armer.
