Cole Matthews Day, Mustangs & Rockets and Beef & Booze

Reynolds Wrestling has a lot going on next week. Read on…

It is always first and foremost about the wrestling team. The dual match season kicks off next week with two home conference matches, Mercer on Tuesday (12/20) and Slippery Rock on Thursday (12/22). Both mathes start with Junior High contests at 6:00 pm. We will talk more about the team lineup and the matchups with these two teams next week.

For now, we want to share information of two special events that will take place during the Slippery Rock match next Thursday.

COLE MATTHEWS DAY

We are very excited to bring back one of the best-ever Raider wrestlers and honor him for representing USA at the U23 World Championships this past fall. We haven't had many alumni wear the Red, White & Blue in world championships so we want to let him know we are extremely proud of his accomplishments. This will take place at the Reynolds HS gym throughout the evening of the Slippery Rock match on December 22.

Related activites for this event include:

  • Cole will be signing posters that are provided by The Neal Lineman Family. Every wrestler in the Reynolds system (elementary through varsity) that is at the Slippery Rock match will get a poster! Others may get one if there are extra posters available.

  • Coach Casey Taylor will introduce Cole in a short presentation between the Jr. High and Varsity matches around 7:00.

  • Cole will then draw the winning raffle tickets (see below).

  • And finally, Cole will be an honorary team member for the evening.

2nd Annual Holiday Raffle

Here is a quick plug for the Reynolds Wrestling Boosters as two lucky raffle winners will be determined prior to the varsity match (approximately 7:00 pm). As stated above, former Raider great, Cole Matthews will pull the tickets! The winner gets half of beef and the 2nd prize is a $1000 gift certificate to a liquor store.

To get your tickets, go to the Reynolds Raiders Wrestling Boosters facebook page. The total number of tickets is limited and (true fact) the odds of winning a prize are almost 600,000 times better than winning the Powerball! So be sure to get your ticket(s) right away!

This eventful night will be a special moment in Raider History. Let's pack the gym to watch the festivities and cheer on Reynolds in their match!
